Collage workshops

Using mindful collage, these workshops provided a space to reflect on Section 28 and its legacies. Participants engaged with this challenging period of recent LGBTQ+ history in a hands-on, empowering way, by using collage to create a personal response to a range of historical material.

Participatory Map-Making

For a project, ‘Section 28 and its afterlives’, Chloe created a BIG GAY MAP of Devon. It details some of the oral histories documented in the project. At The Gathering 2024, LGBT young people shared their memories, experiences, and stories of growing up in the county on the map.

Moving Shame workshops

The workshop explores how gentle yoga and creative practices can help us to (re)move shame in our bodies and lives. These workshops are co-facilitated with Gemma Lucas. Chloe and Gemma have run Moving Shame workshops at QueerCircle for LGBTQ+ therapists and at the Bloom Festival in Exeter.

Live illustration

Chloe has begun a practice of live illustration at academic conferences. The illustrations and text are the moments or ‘sound bites’ from presentations, sessions, and workshops that stand out to them. These moments resonate in some way – either that there is imagery that is conjured, or key messages and statistics that move Chloe emotionally in some way.
